--RF Corey Hart was back in the lineup Friday after being given the day off Thursday by manager Ken Macha. Hart batted .227 with two RBI on the just-completed home stand, and has gone 27 games without a homer.
--INF Craig Counsell started instead of 3B Bill Hall for a very good statistical reason. Counsell was 8-for-16 for his career against St. Louis RHP Kyle Lohse and Hall was 1-for-15 against Lohse. --RHP Yovani Gallardo was on the mound when the game with St. Louis was postponed by rain in the bottom of the second inning. Gallardo, who threw 30 pitches before play was stopped, could come back in the make-up game Monday night. Manager Ken Macha might wait to use Gallardo on Tuesday, where he pitched his first complete game in April.
--RHP Mark DiFelice has not been scored on in 14 of his 16 relief appearances. Of the 16 first batters he has faced, he has retired 12, and only three of 11 inherited runners have scored.
