--3B Bill Hall was in the starting lineup Thursday for the first time since Monday night in Pittsburgh. Hall tweaked his right hamstring making a diving catch as a substitute left fielder in that game and was held out an extra day because of a wet surface and rainy night Wednesday in Cincinnati.
--SS J.J. Hardy made great strides in breaking out of a season-long slump in the last three games of the Brewers' trip to Pittsburgh and Cincinnati. In those three contests, Hardy went 3-for-3 with four RBIs, 2-for-4 with a three-run homer and 1-for-4 with an RBI double. Over the span, Hardy raised his average from .167 to .211. --OF Brad Nelson flied out as a pinch hitter in the ninth inning Thursday night in Cincinnati, remaining hitless for the season. Nelson is 0-for-20 with no RBIs and eight strikeouts.
