--2B Ray Durham will have two extra days to rest his strained right shoulder because the Brewers are facing left-handed pitchers the first two games in Pittsburgh. 2B Rickie Weeks, a right-handed hitter, starts against left-handers.

--RHP Eric Gagne is expected to rejoin the team in Pittsburgh after returning home to Scottsdale, Ariz., on Wednesday when his wife went into labor.

--CF Mike Cameron stole his 15th base in 20 tries Wednesday in St. Louis. The Brewers have been successful on 95 of 127 steal attempts (74.8 percent) this season.

--LHP Manny Parra, who had struggled with his command in recent outings, did not walk a batter in six innings Wednesday in St. Louis. Parra allowed just six hits and one run but received a no-decision when the Cardinals rallied late to win, 5-3. "I thought Manny threw the ball great," manager Ned Yost said.

--RHP Dave Bush, who starts the opener of a three-game series in Pittsburgh on Friday night, is 3-0 with a 2.30 ERA in four starts in August.
