
--RF Corey Hart was back in the starting lineup after sitting out the previous day for a "mental break." Manager Ned Yost said at the time he planned to give Hart at least two days off but changed his mind and re-inserted Hart to the lineup for the opener of a three-game series in Atlanta. Hart's skid continued as he went 0-for-4 with one RBI.
--The Brewers went 16-10 in June and 16-11 in July. It marked the first time they posted at least 16 victories in consecutive months since July (16-12) and August (16-14) of 1995. --LF Ryan Braun was named the Brewers' Player of the Month for July after batting .366 with nine homers and 23 RBIs. LHP CC Sabathia was the Pitcher of the Month for going 4-0 with a 1.82 ERA in five starts.
--2B Rickie Weeks has hit nine home runs this season and all nine have come on the road.
--RHP Jeff Suppan likes facing the Atlanta Braves. Until pitching seven shutout innings in Atlanta, Suppan had not held an opponent scoreless since tossing eight shutout frames against the Braves on May 28. In four starts in July, Suppan was 1-1 with a 9.43 ERA.
