Milwaukee Brewers Notes, Quotes 2008-07-31
--2B Ray Durham was back in the starting lineup Wednesday night after coming out of the game the previous evening with a bruised right shin. He went 1-for-4. Durham fouled a pitch off the shin in the third inning Tuesday and departed in the seventh.

--LHP CC Sabathia took out a full-page ad in the Cleveland Plain Dealer on Wednesday to thank the fans, the team and the community for their support during his 10 years in the Indians organization. Sabathia was traded to the Brewers on July 7. The ad cost more than $12,000.

--LHP Manny Parra became just the 11th pitcher in club history to hit a triple with an opposite-field shot in the fifth inning against Chicago RHP Ryan Dempster. The last Brewers pitcher to collect a triple was RHP Wes Obermueller on Sept. 3, 2005, against San Diego. Parra was the first Brewers pitcher to hit a double and triple in the same game.

--RHP Carlos Villanueva allowed his first inherited runner of the season to score in the sixth inning. Villanueva had stranded all 14 runners he inherited before taking over with a runner on third and one out.

--C Jason Kendall has only two hits in his last 22 at-bats.

BY THE NUMBERS: 20 -- Victories in the Brewers' last at-bat through July 27, tops in the major leagues.

QUOTE TO NOTE: "I was well-rested, obviously." -- RHP Dave Bush, after pitching for the first time in 16 days in the unusual home-away platoon with RHP Seth McClung.
