
--RHP Ben Sheets is 1-2 with a 4.34 ERA in five starts in July. Entering the month, he was 9-2 with a 2.83 ERA.
--SS J.J. Hardy's 10-game hitting streak ended when he went 0-for-4 against Chicago RHP Carlos Zambrano. Hardy, who had a 16-game streak earlier in the season, is the only Brewer with two double-digit streaks this season. --2B Ray Durham started in place of Rickie Weeks but didn't make it through the entire game. Durham departed in the seventh inning with a bruised right shin, the result of fouling a pitch off it in the third. He was listed as day-to-day.
--Hitting with runners in scoring position remains a big concern for the Brewers. They are batting .165 in those situations in 12 games since the All-Star break. They are 8-4 over that span but just 1-4 since a 7-0 start.
--C Jason Kendall has one hit in his last 19 at-bats and is batting .179 (14-for-78) in the month of July.
