
--LF Ryan Braun has not committed an error in 27 starts in the outfield after making the conversion from third base in the spring. Braun, who made 26 errors at third last year, has looked comfortable from the outset, and he recorded his third assist Thursday. His home run in the sixth inning off Cubs RHP Carlos Zambrano snapped a career-high string of 78 at-bats without one.
--The Brewers have handed the Cubs four of their six defeats at home this season. The Brewers have played two series at Wrigley Field already and won both, two games to one. --LHP Brian Shouse has recorded two victories this season in 15 appearances, and he threw just one pitch in each of those two games. After throwing one pitch to Chicago's Daryle Ward in the eighth inning Thursday, Shouse picked off Kosuke Fukudome at first base to end the inning. The Brewers then scored three runs in the ninth to erase a 3-1 deficit and give Shouse the win.
--2B Rickie Weeks is batting only .204 with a .338 on-base percentage but ranks among the league leaders with 24 runs out of the leadoff spot.
--The Brewers went 15-12 in April despite scoring only 929 runs, the third fewest in the National League. "Our pitching and defense carried us," general manager Doug Melvin said. "We're in pretty good shape considering we haven't really hit much."
