
--RHP Yovani Gallardo became only the third player in major league history Wednesday to hit a home run in a 1-0 game and also strike out at least 10 hitters (he whiffed 11 against Pittsburgh). The others were the Yankees' Red Ruffing on Aug. 13, 1932, against Washington, and the White Sox's Early Wynn on May 1, 1959, against Boston.
--The Brewers bullpen has been doing solid work of late, going 4-0 with a 2.25 ERA (six runs in 24 innings) over the past eight games. Over that stretch, the relievers have lowered their ERA from 5.15 to 4.12. --Class A Brevard County RHP Evan Anundsen threw a no-hitter Tuesday against Dayton, logging a career-high 10 strikeouts. It was the first nine-inning no-hitter in the minors this season. Anundsen (20) was a fourth-round draft pick in 2006 out of Columbine (Colo.) High School.
