
--RHP Dave Bush became the first Brewers starter to go seven innings when he pitched 7 2/3 innings Thursday in Philadelphia, taking a no-hitter into the eighth. RHP Yovani Gallardo did that one better Friday in Houston, pitching his first complete game in the major leagues. Gallardo allowed only five hits in a 5-2 victory over the Astros. Gallardo, who grew up in Fort Worth, Texas, had his parents and several other family members on hand for the occasion.
--3B Bill Hall has been a defensive standout at third base this year, playing errorless ball after looking shaky at that position at times last season. Hall credits his improvement to playing the same position for the second consecutive season after two years of changing positions. Hall also lost weight during a rigorous conditioning program during the offseason. --The Brewers earned their first series win of the season by taking two of three games in Philadelphia. Before that, the Brewers had lost two of three in their first four series of the season.
