--C Mike Rivera was back behind the plate Friday night with RHP Dave Bush on the mound, the second time those two paired up. Manager Ken Macha plans to use Rivera every time Bush pitches to give No. 1 C Jason Kendall every fifth game off. Kendall caught a league-high 149 games last year.
--LHP Mitch Stetter was not happy about being the pitcher who served up career home run No. 500 to Mets' pinch-hitter Gary Sheffield Friday night. "I didn't even realize he was sitting on 499," said Stetter. "I realized it when the whole dugout came out on the field." --RHP Jeff Suppan's next start has been pushed back from Friday to Sunday in New York. Suppan is off to an awful start (0-2, 12.91 ERA), and manager Ken Macha said the extra days would allow him to throw another bullpen session and hopefully sharpen up his command.
BY THE NUMBERS: 0 -- Runs allowed by RHP Todd Coffey in 13 appearances since the Brewers claimed him off waivers from Cincinnati last September.
QUOTE TO NOTE: "I don't like doing this, but if you sit back and take a look at our April schedule and into early May, it's a pretty difficult schedule. We've got a tough row to hoe." -- Milwaukee manager Ken Macha.
