--CF Mike Cameron was relieved to hear that San Francisco RHP Joe Martinez is expected to make a full recovery. Martinez was struck on the head by a line drive off the bat of Cameron last Thursday night at AT&T Park and suffered a concussion and three hairline fractures. Cameron incurred severe facial injuries when colliding with New York Mets teammate Carlos Beltran in the outfield in 2005 and knows how difficult it can be to recover, mentally and physically.
--OF Chris Duffy got his first start with the Brewers Sunday night in center field in the series finale against the Cubs. Manager Ken Macha noted that CF Mike Cameron had struggled in the past (3-for-18) against Chicago RHP Ryan Dempster and he wanted Duffy to get some playing time. --1B Prince Fielder has socked 85 home runs since the start of the 2007 season, third-most in the major leagues. Only Philadelphia's Ryan Howard (95) and New York's Alex Rodriguez (89) have more over that span.
BY THE NUMBERS: 0 -- Runs allowed by RHP Todd Coffey in nine appearances since the Brewers claimed him off waivers from Cincinnati last September.
QUOTE TO NOTE: "I don't like doing this, but if you sit back and take a look at our April schedule and into early May, it's a pretty difficult schedule. We've got a tough row to hoe." -- Milwaukee manager Ken Macha.
