
--CF Mike Cameron was distraught over hitting a line drive that struck Giants RHP Joe Martinez on the forehead in the ninth inning Thursday night. Martinez eventually walked off but had a huge welt on his forehead, and Cameron was visibly upset.
--1B Prince Fielder recorded the 500th hit of his career Tuesday with a seventh-inning double off San Francisco LHP Jeremy Affeldt. Fielder was the third-youngest player (24 years, 333 days) in franchise history to reach 500 hits, behind Robin Yount (21 years, 297 days) and Sixto Lezcano (24 years, 305 days). --OF Chris Duffy was the lone non-roster player to make the Brewers' 25-man roster for opening day. Duffy beat out OF Tony Gwynn Jr., who cleared waivers and was sent outright to Class AAA Nashville.
