"I got it in Boston and it hasn't gotten better since then," Braun said, referring to the first stop on the Brewers' last road trip. "There's some fluid built up, so I've felt a little dizzy."

Braun saw a doctor last weekend in Washington and again when the Brewers returned home this week for a nine-game home stand. Two days into a five-day dose of antibiotics, Braun said he didn't feel much difference before taking the field Friday night against Houston.

But he certainly didn't appear ill against the Astros. He matched his career high with four hits and slugged his 14th homer in the first inning as the Brewers pulled away to a 5-1 victory.

"I'm dizzy, so I'm not always seeing straight all the time," said Braun, who seemed to have perfect vision against the Astros.

BREWERS 5, ASTROS 1: The Brewers always seem to fair better when they hit homers. Mike Cameron and Ryan Braun hit back-to-back shots in the first inning off Houston's Brandon Backe and Prince Fielder ended a long power drought with a two-run shot in the fifth as the Brewers won the opener of a three-game series against the Astros. Just as important was a strong start by young lefty Manny Parra, who allowed just one run over six innings. The Brewers will try to pull back to .500 Saturday night behind ace Ben Sheets.
