
CHICAGO (AP) - Umpire Jerry Crawford returned to work Thursday, two days after he had to leave a game and be hospitalized for a bad reaction to medication.
Crawford was umpiring first base Thursday for the finale of a three-game series between the Chicago Cubs and Milwaukee Brewers.Crawford, the crew chief, left Tuesday night's Brewers-Cubs game before the top of the third inning and spent the night in the hospital before being released Wednesday. The 60-year-old had been umpiring behind the plate when he became ill.
There was a 13-minute delay Tuesday night before the game continued with a three-man crew. Damien Beal filled in for Crawford on Wednesday night.
