The Milwaukee Brewers will provide a mix of Baseball and entertainment for the Brewers Winter Warm-Up variety show on Friday, Jan. 23, at the Riverside Theater.

The show stars Bob Uecker, acting as a sort of "Tonight Show" host as he brings on Brewers players, coaches and managers.

There will be Baseball talk. There will be skits. And there will be comedy, featuring Uecker and comedian Fred Klett, himself a big Brewers fan. And there will be a full house at the theater, team officials said.

"Bob's signature persona will dominate. We want it to be light-hearted and fun," said Rick Schlesinger, executive vice president for business relations.

"We are going to showcase a lot of the great memories of 2008," said John Walsh, the show's producer.

General seating for the event is sold out but there are some VIP tickets available. Fox Sports Net Wisconsin plans to record the event and broadcast it later as a one-hour special.

There will be hot stove talk as well, Schlesinger said, with fans getting a chance to hear from general manager Doug Melvin and players such as Ryan Braun, Yovani Gallardo and Rickie Weeks.

The next day, the Brewers will stage their "Brewers On Deck" event from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Midwest Airlines Center. It will be the first time the event has been held away from Miller Park, and the first time it has been staged in January.

"My goal was to always have it in the true off-season," Schlesinger said.

"My goal would be to make this an annual off-season event in the winter," Schlesinger said.

To date, nearly 5,000 tickets have been sold. Tickets for adults are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Tickets for children 14 years of age and younger are $9 in advance or $15 at the door. More information is at www.Brewers.com.

Potawatomi Bingo Casino, the team's new presenting sponsor, also has announced a promotion tied to the On Deck event. Each fan attending the event can use the ticket stub to obtain a free ticket for a Terrace Reserved seat at one of the three home games the Brewers have in April against the Cincinnati Reds on April 13, 14 and 15.
