MILWAUKEE (AP) - The Brewers agreed Tuesday to a 1-year contract with right-hander Yovani Gallardo, who had been the last unsigned player on their 40-man roster.
The 23-year-old is expected to become the centerpiece of the Brewers pitching staff this season after last year's veteran aces, CC Sabathia and Ben Sheets, became free agentsGallardo was 9-5 with a 3.67 ERA in 2007 but was limited to only four regular-season starts last season because of injuries.
